Cosbots Vice Chair Mr PATRICK SETSIBA

Mr Patrick Setsiba – Board Chair

Mr Patrick Setsiba is the new COSBOTS Board Chairman. He took over the baton from Mr Tomeletso Sereetsi after serving diligently as the Vice Chairman since 2017.

Mr Setsiba holds MA (Fine Arts) and is currently a lecturer at Tlokweng College of Education.  He brings a wealth of expertise in the creative arts industry as a BQA accredited visual and performing arts assessor and moderator, a traditional song and dance activist and a visual artist. He is also the Chairman of Ngwao Loshalaba Association (NLA) and a director of Bakwa Cultural Promotion and Facilitator of Project Mmapatsi.

Mr Setsiba, a Co – Author of Ithute Primary Schools Pupils book of Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) has presented papers on national and international forums including, Strategy in song and dance; A Case Study of Ngwao Loshalaba (2004), Expression in Dance Movement; A Case Study of Botswana’s Traditional Song and Dance (Nna le Rammata; 2003) UK, UWIC, The Impact of Technological Era in Tswana Traditions; A Changing Pattern of Botswana Traditional Song and Dance (2002) UK, UWIC.

Cosbots Treasurer Mr ALFRED MOSIMANEGAPE

Mr Alfred Morwaledi Mosimanegape – Vice Chair

Mr Alfred Morwaledi Mosimanegape took over as Vice Chairman of the Board having served as treasurer previously. Mr Mosimanegape is a veteran in the music industry and his long career in the industry has seen him groom a lot of artists and groups. His passion for the industry has yielded great rewards for the industry including the birth of Botswana Musicians Union which he co-founded in 1999. For his tremendous contribution in the creative arts, Mr Mosimanegape prides himself in being one of the first Directors of BOMU where he has served as a President, Vice President administration, and Vice President Finance and Research. Mr Mosimanegape is an experienced guitarist, producer, sound engineer, author and song writer of repute having under his belt 5 music awards ranging from Best kwasa – kwasa artist in 1999, Group of the year award in 2001, Best Compilation award in 2007, Legendary award winner in 2014, and Vision 2016 award in 2011 under the Pillar of “An educated, informed nation”.

Apart from his life in the music industry, Mr Mosimanegape has a background in Finance having worked for Barclays Bank of Botswana, Zimbabwe Banking Corporation and First National Bank Botswana.

Mr Sereetsi is the creative researcher behind the ground breaking book/CD project published in 2013 titled The Solo Four String Guitar of Botswana. The work examines the development of Botswana four string guitar tradition and its distinct song form. He is impressively passionate about researching and documenting Botswana’s indigenous arts. As a professional musician, author and media consultant, he has hosted workshops locally and internationally on traditional arts, adjudicated at music competitions and has done vast performances, songwriting and is also an accomplished producer.

Mr Sereetsi holds a BA degree in Humanities (Sociology and English) and has undergone training on Project Management, Strategic Management and Customer Care, Leadership Skills for Public and Private Sector Managers and Finance for Non-Finance Personnel.

He has a professional experience in the media fraternity commencing 2004 to 2014 having worked at Echo, Mmegi/Monitor, Guardian and Daily News newspapers. He has also worked for Duma FM, and Yarona FM as head of news. During this time he was mainly responsible for production, presenting and editing stories for publication and providing editorial direction. Prior to his role in the music industry, Mr Sereetsi worked at Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) as Publications ad Media Relations Manager. In this role he was responsible for production and editing of corporate literature, production and editing of content for university website, social media platforms and advising university management on media related matters.

Apart from his life in the music industry, Mr Mosimanegape who is the Treasurer has a background in Finance having worked for Barclays Bank of Botswana from 1986 – 1989, Zimbabwe Banking Corporation from 1989 – 1995 and First National Bank Botswana from 1995 – 1999.

Mrs. Staffnurse Bangu Lesetedi – Keothepile

Mrs. Lesetedi Keothepile, a former Copyright Administrator is the government representative in the COSBOTS Board as prescribed under section 36 (h) of COSBOTS constitution. She is currently working at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) under the department of International Trade. She holds two Masters degrees in Intellectual Property law and Business Management acquired in USA and University of Botswana respectively. Mrs Lesetedi – Keothepile thus has vast knowledge on Intellectual Property crucial for providing strategic direction to the management of COSBOTS.

Over and above her employment at MITI, Mrs Lesetedi – Keothepile is a part time Business law lecturer at University of Botswana.

Mrs. Staffnurse Bangu Lesetedi – Keothepile

Mrs. Lesetedi Keothepile, a former Copyright Administrator is the government representative in the COSBOTS Board as prescribed under section 36 (h) of COSBOTS constitution. She is currently working at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) under the department of International Trade. Mr Mpho Motlhasedi – Treasurer

Mr Mpho Motlhasedi (AKA Nakedi) took over from Mr Alfred M. Mosimanegape. Mr Motlhasedi is a renowned artist, author and performer with 9 albums under his belt. He sits on a number of boards. Mr Motlhasedi has a diploma in Theology, and has undergone training in Communications skills, Master planning, Strength Identification and Development, Leadership and Mentoring and Communication Skills development.

Mr Trinity Moletlanyi Mphoeng

Mr Mphoeng, holds Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Diploma in Statistics from the University of Botswana and a certificate in Human Resource Management acquired from Humbler School of Business in Toronto, Canada. He has extensive knowledge and experience on recruitment, selection and performance management and reviews having worked in Human Capital for different companies in Canada.

In Botswana Mr Mphoeng has worked for the then Ministry of Local Government as a Senior Research Officer. Like most of the Directors on the COSBOTS Board, Mr Mphoeng is a distinguished artist, composer, performer and music publisher.

Mr Trinity Moletlanyi Mphoeng

Mr Mphoeng, holds Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences and Diploma in Statistics from the University of Botswana and a certificate in Human Resource Management acquired from Humbler School of Business in Toronto, Canada. He has extensive knowledge and experience on recruitment, selection and performance management and reviews having worked in Human Capital for different companies in Canada.

In Botswana Mr Mphoeng has worked for the then Ministry of Local Government as a Senior Research Officer. Like most of the Directors on the COSBOTS Board, Mr Mphoeng is a distinguished artist, composer, performer and music publisher.

Mr Mogotsi has acquired over 10 years of teaching and administrative experience from Molepolole College of Education, where he was acting head of Department – English. He is passionate about various styles of writing, especially creative writing. Mogotsi is a published author and possesses literary and academic editing skills from various writing fields. He is currently the Chairperson of Writers Association of Botswana (WABO) and member of the Botswana English Teachers Association.

Ms Winnie Winani Sekani

Ms Winnie Winani Sekani is a woman of many talents, a legendary song writer and performer. Ms Sekani is a member of Kanvuthu Ika – Jazz band which boasts of 6 local music awards including Best New Comer Live Band in 2015, Best Afro – Pop BOMU award in 2016, Best New Comer award, Northern Art Award in Francistown in 2016, and Best Afro – Pop, and also scooped an award of Honour in Francistown, Northern Art Award in 2017, including an international award for Best Traditional Group (RSA).

Ms Winnie Winani Sekani

Ms Winnie Winani Sekani is a woman of many talents, a legendary song writer and performer. Ms Sekani is also an avid sport lady of repute having played soft ball for more than a decade and led Botswana Senior Women’s National Team as assistant captain. She represented Botswana Softball Association in Southern Africa and in International games. Ms Sekani is currently under the employ of Botswana Nurses Union as a Collections officer, a position she has held since 2010.  She holds a Higher Diploma in Secretarial Administration and is pursuing Diploma in Accounting and Business studies at the University of Botswana.

Mr Game Goabaone Bantsi – AKA Zeus

Mr Game Goabaone Bantsi – AKA Zeus

A seasoned and accomplished rap artist known for his captivating lyrics. With his amazing talent he embraced different genres of music from acapella, gospel, hip hop and kwaito. In his music career that dates back in 2005, Mr Bantsi earned himself prestigious nominations including Channel O music video awards in 2008.Throughout his career as a director, author, performer and music publisher he has garnered awards such as Channel O Africa Music Video Award in 2009, and 2013, and Yarona FM Most Professional Artist award. He was recently nominated for the US based AFRIMMA for Best Male Southern Africa and Best Rap Act.

Mr Bantsi is also the founder of DIY entertainment, Co – founder of Jam For Brunch and has worked as a Marketing Executive for News Company Botswana. He has been actively involved in other national assignments including The Sir Ketumile Masire Foundation Youth Advisory Council and the United Nations Population Fund SADC Regional Programme which ended in 2016.

He holds Bachelor of Business and Commerce acquired at Monash (RSA) and a Post Graduate Bachelor of Arts (Film and TV).

Mr Kopano Mantswe represents Botswana Folklore Association and Indigenous Knowledge. He holds a Diploma in Computer Hardware Engineering and has worked as a Service Engineer at Aspects Solutions from 2006 to 2014. Mr Mantswe is also a Director of Steppin’ razor music group.
